  • Senate Bill 1159,  (Dinniman and Smucker) – Summary –  Affirms the General Assembly’s role in implementing the new Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), which has replaced the No Child Left behind (NCLB) Act of 2001 at the federal level, to ensure legislative input and involvement in developing major education initiatives.
  • House Bill 423, P.N. 458 (Simmons) – Summary – Provides civil immunity to school bus drivers who administer an epinephrine auto-injector (epi-pen) to a student.
  • House Bill 1734, P.N. 2598 (Wentling) – Summary – Provides for continuing professional education plan deadlines and extends continuing professional education requirements for teachers and administrators.
