HARRISBURG (May 11, 2017) – The Senate Education Committee subcommittee on Support Services and Transportation, chaired by Senator John DiSanto, will hold a hearing to examine current practices and issues in pupil transportation services in Pennsylvania schools.
“The subcommittee on Support Services and Transportation was created to focus on ensuring accountability, transparency, and efficiency of support services provided in schools. Pupil transportation is an important service that schools provide and the Governor’s budget proposal would have an impact on these services. Senator DiSanto and I would like to know more about that potential impact,” Senator John H. Eichelberger, Jr. noted.
The hearing will take place on Monday, May 15, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. in Hearing Room 1, located in the North Office Building of the Capitol complex in Harrisburg, PA and will include testimony from the Pennsylvania School Bus Association, Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials, the Pennsylvania School Boards Association, and the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
